The residential and urban recreation area of Wallerfangen is historically shaped by the residences of the Villeroy and von Papen families.
The administrative centre is located on the factory site in the heart of the village, which is also of historical origin as it was formerly the site of the Villeroy earthenware factory. Products dating from this era are on display at the museum of local history and culture.
Numerous leisure-time and recreational facilities and local sights, such as the outdoor swimming pool and campsite, Blauloch youth village, Heimatmuseum (museum of local history and culture), Gisingen golf course, Düren airfield, Gallo-Roman place of worship "Sudelfels" in Ihn, Roman copper mine "Emilianusstollen" in St. Barbara and the "Saargau" house in Gisingen complete the picture of the community of Wallerfangen.
